ok so I got quite a few people who wanted a walkthrough type thing of how I color and draw and stuff so
let’s DO this thing
lets make this shit work
ok first thing I’ll go over is what brushes I use!!
These are the brushes from the default brush set in photoshop cs5

the one I have circled is called the oil pastel brush.
I used to use this one ALOT but I don’t use it as much anymore
I set the flow to about 30% and I have pen pressure checked.
ok this is my new favorite brush
It’s called the soft oil pastel brush and it’s really good for providing that chalky outline look
I have pen pressure checked off for this brush.
and now onto the actual process stuff!
okay first thing I do is I make a pretty messy and anatomically horrific sketch

next I put a color on the background (coloring on a white background is for douchebags) and I slap some skin color on

ok the best thing about photoshop is opacity lock. Seriously I could marry opacity lock it is my savior and religion ok
this is opacity lock. bow down to your king.
I actually found out about it not that long ago and it has made coloring a million times easier and faster so seriously USE IT

I have no idea what I’m doing at this point SLAP SOME COLOR ON THAT BITCH and move on

continuing the process of “put down base color and add stuff with opacity lock”
I make a new layer for the hair, face, dress, and ribbon thing. I usually make a new layer for EVERYTHING (I often make a new layer for each arm and I also usually make a layer for the bangs and a seperate layer for the rest of the hair) but I got a bit lazy today so I didnt. Most of the time I don’t really have much of an idea of what I’m doing for colors so it gets pretty sloppy.

Added blood (eeewwww), textures, and my favorite thing ever -
DARK BLUE EXCLUSION LAYER
I use it on almost everything I draw I should probably stop but I LOVE IT TOO MUCH
I get textures from here and here
And that’s pretty much it!
This probably was not helpful at all….
In the future I’ll probably be doing livestreams (which may be more helpful to watch??) so look out for those I guess!!
